Responsibilities include designing, maintenance, implementation & administration of data-centers infrastructure for database servers to provide high-availability(HA), automatic fail-over, data-consolidation, distributed-availability & load distribution of OLTP database for mission critical applications

Installation, configuration and maintenance of large database servers on UNIX/Linux/Sun Solaris platforms

Management of database servers and devising backup strategies i.e. zero level, incremental backups using ontape & crontab utility, dbexport/dbimport, load/unload etc

Responsible to perform query optimization, database design and provide support in writing complex queries, stored procedures/functions, views, DDL/DML scripts review/feedback to other teams

Responsible to perform all kind of other database administration activities

Responsible to maintain a good, healthy & friendly team environment by using his soft skills

| Skills Required: |

--Strong working knowledge of RDBMS and its internal storage & memory architecture.
--Must be familiar with working and managing enterprise level mission critical databases at Solaris/Unix/Linux platforms and storage technologies/methods (e.g. RAID, SAN etc.)
--Hands on experience in designing, maintenance, implementation & administration of data-centers infrastructure for database servers to provide high-availability(HA) and automatic fail-over.
--Should be a quick learner, willing to take initiative, enthusiastic about his work, determined and hard worker.
--Should possess a nice pleasant & flexible personality and should be willing to work in a flexible timings (as per requirements).
--Excellent analytical and communication/soft skills are required.
--Should be able to deliver the desired results in a pressure environment under tough time-lines. |
