Why IT jobs in Pakistan are on the Boom?
These days Information Technology (IT) and its enabled services such as ITeS offer golden opportunities for developing countries to join the group of the developed countries. Growth of IT industry is quicker than any other industry in the world, and many developing countries are endeavoring to follow the success enjoyed by countries like China, India and Thailand.
In Pakistan, the IT sector is growing with rapid pace and it is creating a lot of job opportunities in Pakistan. Since last few years the Pakistani Government is also putting serious efforts in developing the IT sector in Pakistan. A few of the incentives provided by the Pakistani government to the foreign and local investors include:
- Relaxation from tax till 2016 to attract foreign investment
- Construction of IT Parks on low rates
- Foreign possession of capital invested in IT industry and 100% repatriation of earnings allowed to IT firms
There are a lot of IT jobs in Pakistan because the IT industry of Pakistan has been growing with a steady pace. A noticeable boost in software export figures are a sign of this flourishing industry’s potential. Another reason of better positioning of IT jobs in Pakistan is that government organizations and many local organizations are shifting their operations from manual to computerized systems. Due to this reason, a lot of job vacancies in Pakistan are emerging in this sector.
According to the report of World Economic Forum (WEF), there are minor improvements in the quality of educational system, where Pakistan ranks at 99 from 104 last year, company expenditure on Research & Development getting better by 6 places to stand at 80 now and access of internet in schools and colleges improving by six places to 75.
Approximately 20,000 students are graduating annually in the field of IT and this figure is increasing with the time. There are more than 110 universities and IT schools in Pakistan which are providing professional IT education. This figure shows that Pakistan has a lot of potential in this field.
