Best Tips for Fresh Graduates to Hunt Best Jobs in Pakistan
Pakistan is a land full of talented people and opportunities to grow further. In the current era, we all keep on hearing common sayings like jobs are not available in Pakistani market; Businesses are facing severe problems in Pakistan; Jobs are impossible without strong references in Pakistan etc. Believe me, all are just exaggerated statements. I admit, the situation is not so good, but at the same time, it’s not as bad as being portrayed as well. There are businesses that are doing well, and people are getting good jobs in Pakistan on the basis of their own talent and abilities.
Fresh graduates face more problems to get jobs than the experienced people in Pakistan. The reason is that there is no coaching for them on the topic of “HOW TO GET ‘THE’ JOB YOU WANT?” Most of the universities and educational institutions are not guiding and helping out their students in their job hunting. Fresh graduates when enter practical lives after completing their education, experience a totally different scenario all of a sudden. They do not know, from where to get started in job hunting. They make resumes and start sending CV’s in different offices. When the expense gets increased and they do not get any responses from the market, they get frustrated. Some offices straight away refuse for the job, some say ‘OK! we will forward your CV to our HR Department and they will contact you if they will feel to do so’, and some offices even break their emotions by saying, ‘your resume’s format is not impressive”… Some usually give out suggestions on attaching or detaching a picture on the CV, or changing the font etc.
The fresh graduates again start making and refining their resumes and spoil the level of attention, energy and time also. It is my advice for the fresh graduates not to get dis-hearted from all this. You have covered almost everything about your skills and education on your resume. Those who are serious for picking up the right person for their organization will not bother for all that. But it doesn’t mean that you should stick to your one style resume forever. One must keep on updating it after some reasonable time period like 6 months or a year or so.
Practices of giving interviews are also very effective and this exercise must be carried out among students during their educational time as well as among friends themselves. Hesitation among fresh graduates in Pakistan at the time of interview is also a very common dilemma. The simple formula to be at your best during interviews other than the technical queries is to be confident and to sell yourself as the perfect candidate for the job. Think as an employer as to what he wants from you to deliver for his/her organization. I would like to quote an example here. Suppose the employer asks you that if sometime, the work load is heavy, and you have to come to the office on weekends, will you be able to come or not? Mr. Fresh Graduate, I am not going to give you the answer for that; think as an employer and then you will get the answer by yourself. Interview is something that must be given in a perfect manner. Your dressing should be decent and very much formal. Your hair-style, shoes, and sitting style, hence every inch of your look is being counted in your performance for the interview. So be very much careful about your presentation.
Subscribing to the top recruiting portals, being the member of the social groups on bricks & clicks and being in-touch with the Alumni of their respective institutions are also some of the most effective tools to get ‘the’ best job you want. In addition to this, you should be very much vigilant for the latest job ads in newspapers and magazines. Online job portals are getting so much popular in Pakistan very quickly. They provide the ease of jobs for the HR departments of companies and also, reduce the fatigue for the job-seekers. All the key jobs are a click-away for everyone.
No doubt, Pakistan is facing severe inflation and jobs are not that much in number as compared to the candidates, but one should keep on seeking the jobs, and I personally would recommend to the fresh graduates that it does not matter what package you are being offered for the job. If the job is related to your education, you shouldn’t say NO for that, and do your best at the job with full loyalty and hard-work. Don’t forget about the popular saying that there is no substitute for hard-work.

Good article.. But reality is there. To get the job is depend upon refrence and experience. If u hv refrence u can get job easily. I did MBA from international islamic university in 2009. I m still jobless.. I dont know from where i get the experience to impress the HR department. I dont put the fake experience on my c.v to get the job.
